4 FREE Backgrounds for your artwork

I have not produced any new art in a couple of weeks so I thought I would share a vintage image with you and parts of a painting I made a while back. I thought some of you might like to use these for some of your mixed media backgrounds. Have fun.

Free Vintage Image and missing you

Sorry I have been MIA for a week but I wanted to give the exposure to the Art Auction going on at Inspiration Avenue. I have missed out on blog hopping too as I had been busy creating a painting for my mother's birthday. I will show that to you soon. I still  need to download the photos from my camera. I hope you had some gorgeous sunny days this past week. We did and the birds were loving it too. They were all over the place singing their tunes. The weather was in the hi 50's and low 60's with sunshine for 5 days! Whoot! After having so much snow since December, we were all getting cabin fever. Well, I hope you enjoy your day, today. This is a vintage photo of my Grandfather. I'm going to guess this is from around the 50's.  Wish I knew for sure. This is the amaryllis my mother-in-law gave to me at Christmas. It was a stalk in the soil and then each day it got bigger and bigger until pop all the beauty came out and greeted me in one morning. I had to snap it quick before the lighting changed or someone knocked off a flower or something.

This is how busy life has been for me lately. I am just now posting a swap from December and my last post was from December too. I had the pleasure of participating in The Twelve Days of Christmas ATC Swap with some wonderfully talented artists. The lovely hostess, Christine Edwards sent us each a ribbon and 12 little clothes pins to hang them as banners. Mine is still hanging on my living room curtain, above. I love it! It was so much fun to get the bundle and unwrap the treasures. Aren't they fun?

Happy Thanksgiving ~ FREE Vintage Image

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Wishing you all something special to be thankful for.  The second image is my gift to you. You can sell the art you create with it, but please do not sell the image, itself. This is Sidney Sprinkle (my husband's grandfather) age 3 in 1897. I just love his little outfit and that adorable expression on his face. Too cute! 

1915 Holmes School Athletic Club~ Free VIntage Image~ Giveaway

I had to laugh, well the whole family did when we saw this fantastic photo of my husband's grandmother. This is the athletic club in  1915. She is the one in the center row, near center with the gigantic bow on her head. Can you imagine running anywhere in that thing? It looks like it would keep your head back, doesn't it? Too funny. Look at the girl in the very back, near center's last or nickname. Poor dear. Pillow, really? This image has been written over pretty good and is dingy but if you'd like to have it for your artwork, just click on it  and it will appear larger then right click and save. All that I ask is that you not sell the image alone, you are free to use it at will in all of your art work for sale or not. Hope you had a good laugh. Enjoy your Saturday!
