Veterans Day

I would like to thank all of the men and women whom serve in our armed forces to keep our borders safe, and to ensure our freedom. It is a sacrifice that not only each of them make but also each of their families make, as well. My husband, my brother, my father, and my 2 uncles all served in our nations military. I am grateful for all those that are or have served our country.

BLOOM where you are planted

What a lovely sentiment.
I made this banner as a reminder to Bloom where you are planted. I have faith.

I'm having a stressful day so I decided to look through my images and found this one. I love it. We grew this Poppy plant from seed this past summer and it bloomed and bloomed. So pretty.

Christmas is Coming

Christmas is only 6 weeks away. Don't believe me have a look at the bottom of my blog. I LOVE Christmas! It is a time for giving, a time for sharing yourself. It's a time for family and friends to gather.
It's a feast for all 5 of the senses. Twinkling lights, the sounds of Christmas music, the classic movies and the smells permeating the air. The baking of cookies, the fresh pine smell of the tree. So to start of fthe season I decided to make my first kit to sell in my etsy shop.

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday,

Round and round we go...

I just listed this in my shop. I had a lot of fun making it today. It is magnetic and can be used for the 14 inspirational quotes that come with it or as you can see in the 3rd picture you can out a small photo on it.

I created something else today but the pictures were blurry. argh! Anyway, it is dark now so I will have to rephotograph tomorrow. I seem to struggle with the digital camera for some reason. Can't figure out why some pics look crystal clear and others blurry. hmmm...? Maybe I should wear my glasses and not squint my left eye when I do these things.
Today went by entirely too fast! Darnit! What are you up to this weekend? Anything fun?

Have a lovely weekend,

Rita Vindedzis's Lovely Artwork

This lovely card was a giveaway I won from a sweet Canadian artist by the name of Rita Vindedzis.. Isn't it pretty.
To my surprise and delight Miss Rita was very generous and threw in 2 of her gorgeous posters.

She remembered that I commented on one of her poppy field paintings and decided to be a doll and send these. I love them! Isn't she an angel? You should go check out her blog and on it you will see a link to her etsy shop and there you wil find her beautiful works for sale.

Aqua Poppy Designs + Free Blog Backgrounds

Hello, as promised, I would like to introduce you to a lovely Blog Designer. Her name is Chelsea Stephenson of Aqua Poppy Designs. She has a wonderful selection of FREE backgrounds and an even larger array of tools to create custom designs. Chelsea created my header to coordinate with one of her FREE backgrounds. I gave her my desires and she nailed it on the head. And she was quick to boot! Love that, cuz when I make a decision to do something, I like it done yesterday. lol

Here's our interview:

Q. Chelsea, tell us a little about yourself.

A. I'm a stay-at-home mom who takes care of one little boy who is 20 months old. I have been happily married for 4 years. In my spare time, I love to digital scrapbook, crochet, make crafts, decorate my home, click away on my Nikon camera and blog-of course!! I do love food, but I don't like to cook! I could eat Mexican and Italian food everyday. I love spending time with my Son, Husband and family most of all though. We enjoy anything outdoors in all the beautiful seasons!

Q. What inspires your blog designs?

A. There are so many inspiring people and art out there! I love looking at scrapbook paper, home decorating magazines, photography and the beauty of all the seasons around me. My son and family are an inspiration too!

Q. Why do you offer free backgrounds?

A. I like to have something to offer everyone. I know what it's like to be on a budget! And offering free backgrounds is something fun for me to do for other people who maybe can't afford a custom blog design, but who still want their blog to be stylish and express their personality.

Q. How long does it take for you to complete a custom order?

A. It depends on how long my son naps! :) No, it really only takes a a day or two to finish a custom order. It also depends if I have a waiting list for custom designs. I try my best to get to your custom design done in a timely manner.

Q. Can someone come to you with a design idea and you create it?

A. I am always up for a challenge! And I love learning new things. Although, I'm not a professional graphic designer, so I don't know everything there is to know about designing! I have self taught myself most of my designing skills.

Q. Your prices are reasonable, making a blog makeover very enticing.

A. I started Aqua Poppy Designs for fun! So, I want to keep my prices reasonable so that it's affordable for everyone. I really enjoy creating blog designs from the very talented digital designers out there, as well as creating my own unique designs.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

A. When I decided to start Aqua Poppy Designs, I didn't know that I'd meet so many inspiring and creative individuals! Most of them are like me, stay-at-home Mom's, trying to do something fun from home! Most of all, I have really loved meeting new friends and making people happy, by creating something unique and fun for their blog!

This was fun! Thanks again for the opportunity, Tammy!

So there you have it. Please go check out her website. I'm telling you it is well worth your time.

Hugs,

Her services are very reasonably priced. She did mine and was such a doll to work with.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween all! This is our front porch. The trick or treaters were adorable. We only had about 40, this year.
