Newest Painting...wonderful colors

Well here she is. Remember I told you I took a photo of a daffodil in front of a bright blue tarp. I took that image and played around with it on picnik and made my banner up above. I really loved the colors so today I painted it. I am listing it in my etsy shop and hopefully someone else will love the colors, too. I have 3 more canvases staring at me. I think I'll paint something else.

"Daffodils" (1804)

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).

It's funny how intimidating a blank canvas can be. You don't want to ruin a perfectly good canvas, after all you did pay a good penny for it, and you don't want to start painting one thing and then change your mind only to let it sit there for goodness knows how long. I still have this one below sitting around waiting for me to complete it. The cloud in the upper right hand corner was slopped on and leaves a lot to be desired. It's funny what you can learn on Youtube. You can type in "how to make---" and you'd be amazed at how many tutorials pop up.
The weather has been so fickle today. It was warm then rainy and cold and now the sun is shining and it sunny again. It's almost like Mother Nature is female or something. Fickle fickle. lol Enjoy your day my friends. I'm off to blog hop.
Happy Creating,
Tammy

  2. Hi Tammy,
I love your painting AND your banner. So bright and cheery! I know exactly what you mean about the blank canvas. I have "blank-canvas-phobia" :) It's so intimidating worrying about which way to go...I have to tell myself it's ok to paint over it and start again if it all goes wrong.

Your sky and beach canvas is beautiful! Keep going with it, I know you can do something awesome!

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I am LOVING the way you caught the light behind the center of the daffodil- gorgeous!
I totally hear you on the horrors of a blank canvas! I have two that I spent a little more than usual on and have been avoiding them like the plague - I guess I'm scared of them:)
Hope you're having as beautiful weather as we are here in Georgia!
    Hugs,
    Steph
