The little things...

I eat almonds all the time as a snack and when I grabbed some the other day, this one was in my hand. How cool is that? A heart shaped almond. Hmmm...maybe I should list it on Ebay. Make a few bucks. ;D No. lol Anyway, there was a Cinnamon/Rust Art Challenge at Inspiration Avenue's blog and I have been busy with custom orders so I decided to submit my photo of this almond. It works, right?. It is cinnamon and rust in color, after all. I look at little things like this as someone special smiling down on me. It's the little things in life that bring me the greatest joy. I get to celebrate them all the time. So to you I wish for little joys each day. Love ya all!

"Frosty" Submission

This is my submission for Inspiration Avenue's Weekly Challenge "Frosty". He is made of paperclay and mica chips for his snowball look. Frosty is an ornament measuring approximately 3" tall. He hangs from a heavenly piece of off white colored yarn. I just love that yarn. It is so soft.  If you would like to see the other submissions, pop over here. You can join in the weekly fun, too. "Travel" Weekly Challenge

"Travel" was this past week's Challenge at the Inspiration Avenue Blog. This is my piece. I stuffed the balloon with tissue paper before decoupaging it onto the canvas. The basket has a pocket in it to insert a photo.
 

I couldn't resist cutting out a photo of my kids and placing them in the hot air balloon basket.My daughter just rolled her eyes when she saw it. lol

Inspiration Avenue's Weekly Challenge "Pink"

This weeks challenge was to create something "Pink". It could be any type of medium. I chose decoupage. This piece would be perfect for keeping pens and pencils togeteher, Paint brushes, crafting scissors, anything you need handy on your desk or crafting table. I am listing it in our team shop, today. Sunset. I love when the sun goes down and the sky does fabulous things like turn a myriad of colors. It makes me thankful to be alive. I love nature. It never ceases to amuse me. Orange you glad it's almost Halloween

Here is my submission for this weeks "Orange" Color Challenge at Inspiration Avenue's blog .

I love Halloween and of course I thought of it with the color orange and the time of year it is.
The witches hat was made out of paper clay and then embossed with the spiders web, painted with a beaded tip and frilly brim.
The pumpkin was made of paper clay and he has a little spiral stem at the top. Anyway, every week there is a new color or word challenge. It's fun! There's also a giveaway once a month. This coming weeks challenge word is "Vintage". I am excited about that. I love bits of the past showing up in artwork. If you want to join in on the fun just create something, anything having to do with Vintage. It can be a photograph you take, a piece of jewelry, a mixed-media piece, a tag, anything at all. The deadline for submissions is every Sunday at 5pm EST, USA. Come play with us. ;D

Weekly Challenge "SUMMER" and giveaway

Hello all. This is my contribution to the Weekly Challenge at Inspiration Avenue. Directions were to create something (using whatever art medium you wanted) in keeping with this week's theme. This week's theme was "SUMMER". These colors remind me of the caribbean sea and thus inspired me to create this memory bracelet. Memory bracelets are called such because the wire has a memory. It encircles your wrist by being wrapped around it and voila...loveliness, then when you take it off it forms the circle again. It fits any size wrist.

Inspiration Avenue Etsy Street Team Weekly Challenge

Shwew, that was a long title. Anyways, I wanted to let you all know about a weekly challenge we as a team have decided to host. Each week we will have one of our team members choose a color, word or both for the challenge. We will post the challenge on our team blog, Inspiration Avenue.

The challenge is for you to create something, anything, that has to do with summer, whether it be something that reminds you of summer or something that has summertime colors in it or the word summer is used in the piece. Whatever your little heart desires. Some examples might be a necklace, photo, mixed-media piece, painting, using the colors of summer, the word summer or be made with seashells, pearls, palm fronds, or whatever evokes summer to you.

The creations will be unveiled on Sundays. So if you want to participate just click on the link above and post a comment linking us back to your blog post showcasing your creation, so we can all come by and see what loveliness you came up with. I love these fun challenges. They really get the creative juices flowing.
