Hello Spring! Painting


I fell in love with the Lilac Breasted Roller while looking for a colorful bird to paint for this weeks challenge at Inspiration Avenue. The challenge was Hello Spring! Spring always brings bird song and cheer. I am making a set of these little 5x5 paintings but the other will be a different colorful bird. I am thinking of the Painted Bunting. Such a pretty pair they will make. God sure created some magnificent creatures in this world.

    Wow Tammy this is gorgeous! Stunning colours, and I love the patterned background - gives lots of interest but doesn't take anything away from the little bird.

    She is a gorgeous birdy!!! The most beautiful painting!!
    God surely did make some amazing birds! I look around my house and have so many different sorts I have not stopped counting at 108! And scientists are still discovering species in the Amazon, Africa, and in PNG and Salomon Islands and Java and all those Indonesian places!

    This is one gorgeous bird. Of course I am impressed. I also love that this Lilac Breasted Roller will be joined by another bird. And yes, all God's creatures are truly magnificent.

    Tammy! I am loving that you're painting more- this is gorgeous! So beautifully done, I love that soft background with just a hint of leaves, and the bird expresssion and color is perfect. I can't wait to see the other of the set!

    Oh, such a beautiful bird! Amazing, some of the coloration that birds have...I've never seen this one.

    Birdsong is the very first sign of spring around here, before the first green shoot pops out of the ground.

    Your painting is absolutely fabulous - I just love that word "fabulous" :D That little bird is so colorful and you captured every detail so perfectly. Your feathers are wonderful - I am still practicing feathers, and fur, well that is still a mystery LOL
