Well, here is one of the mixed media clocks I have been working on this past week or so. I have another that is robins egg blue with a tree like vine and a birds nest at the center of the clocks hands. It has a scalloped edge on the top and bottom. I will post pics after the scalloped edge has cured.
These are so much fun! They are functional art. What could be better?! What is your latest project?
I woke up this morning to 4" of snow! Yep, snow. ugh! Someone please send me some sunny warm days, please oh please. :)
Well, I have 3 journals to make, so I guess I better run for now. Have a lovely Saturday. It is my favorite day of the week, cuz' a. no work b. no work tomorrow, c. sleep in, d. date night with hubby, should I go on?
Tell me what your favorite day is and why.
Hugs,
Tammy

ReplyDeleteP.S My favorite day is Friday night cause the hubby and I can stay up really late watching movies and baking cookies:)
That's really nice.
ReplyDeleteCan I ask, did you use a canvas or a board? I have been wanting to do similar using canvas but I am trying to figure out how to get the backing of the clock to not pull on the canvas itself.
Thanks Ladies!
ReplyDeleteVictoria, thanks for the warm wishes, literally. The snow is melting. Yay!
Sandy, a movie and cookies sounds like a perfect ending to a work week.
DM, I used MDF and routed out a place for the clock mechanism. I thought of using canvas before and thought maybe of using a 1x2 in the middle to brace the mechanism, even a 1x1 might work. Good Luck!
Hi Tammy! Thanks for the link, I put your blog on mine too. I love the bird mixed media clock. very pretty.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Thanks Pitter Painter. I appreciate the compliment and the blog link. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammy. I was thinking you used wood, too. I may have to go that route, but I think I am going to try a brace in the canvas first. I have an idea for my newphes and I need to stop putting it off or Christmas will be here before I know it!
