Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures Tammy. They are really beautiful. I would love to go there one day. Thanks also for your supportive comments re Jessica and her braces. She appreciated what you said very much. Lindsay
Oh I would really love to go there - being an architect and art lover. A bit far from home though (South Africa) but one day,one day.... I have been to most of the west european museums though.
Just gorgeous! Sometimes I ponder at the fact that back then they were able to create such beautiful things and today we supposedly have so much more capability but I don't know that we create anything as beautiful or as lasting.
I've only been once for a few hours, but it was great. Have you ever read the book "The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil Frank..."Somebody - I can't remember the whole title. It's about some kids who run away and live for a week in the Met! Fun story. Congrats on your SITS day!
Congrats on being the SITS FB of the day! I absolutely LOVE The Met. I try to get there at least once a year. Each time I visit a different gallery. Your post made me long to go again...soon! Too bad I live 4 hours away.
Oh, I want to go! We tried to take our twins to an art museum last year (at 2 and a half years old). Turned out that was a bad, bad idea :) We'll try again soon...
Wow! That is incredible... I'd love to visit there someday! that crazy necklace is AWESOME :) And I love the painting of the guy with all the different thingies hanging from it, too. lol... Not very technical wording, but you get my drift!
I love the Met. There's so much to see and take in. I wonder if it's possible to see everything it has to offer? I wonder how long that would take. I've visited a few times and I've only seen a fraction of it.
I don't know how I missed this post of yours the first time around Tammy. Your photos are absolutely gorgeous, for lack of a better, more original adjective.
I was so psyched to see you as the SITS featured blog today! Congrats!
The Metropolitan, is seriously, my FAVORITE place on earth. Nowhere else do I feel so peaceful. And my favorite movie is "The Thomas Crown Affair" because it takes place there...(the remake, with Pierce Brosnan). GREAT movie showcasing this lovely museum.
I wish I could take my kids there. We love stuff like that. Just nothing grand in our neck of the woods. Thanks for sharing with those of us who don't get the opportunity to visit.
I love the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I always thought that if I lived in New York,it would have to right across the street. There is so much to see there, it would take years to get through it and then you would have to go back and see your favorites.
Wow, beautiful! I wish there were more museums near where I live. I think it is probably a good thing, because I would spend all of my money at the museums. I love learning, and I love art!
Really beautiful. I totally thought the first mosaic was a rug! How detailed so pretty. Oh and the necklace! I wonder if they would notice if I borrowed it and took it for a night on the town. :) Thanks for the beautiful pictures.
Wow! What an amazing variety of art in so many different styles. I'm amazed by the beautiful mosaics and I like the painting with the tolls and things hanging off the bottom. Very evocative.
I really would love going there one day Tammy :D
