Jack of Hearts and Colors of the Caribbean

This first ATC was for a swap that you had to transform a playing card and leave a bit of the original card exposed.I chose to do Jack of Hearts because Mr. Sprinkle is Jack and he has my heart. : )
This second ATC was created for a swap called Colors of the Caribbean. The photo does not show all of the textures or layering very well. Oh well, I was in a hurry to post it so I grabbed my camera and shot these tossed them into the envelopes and ran to the mailbox trying to make it before the postman left. So silly. I forget to take pictures of the things I create and send out all the time. Usually it is already packaged up or sent before I have that hindsight thingy happen. I'll blame it on my age. Since I hit 40, my near sightedness has wavered and my mind has these small memory lapses. Some call this meditating when they can clear their mind, but what do you call it when you are not even trying?

  1. They're lovely Tammy - the Jack is my favourite, with all those pretty layers (and I love text in artwork!)

I keep resolving to try and take part in more creative challenges like this - they always seem so much fun and to produce such fab work. One day I actually will!

Oh and it's not just you - I do the "I'll need to unwrap it to take a photo of it now" thing too - I like to think of it as creative-type absent-mindedness lol! x

  2. Those are really nice. I really like that first one and the second is great too.
I'm always forgetting to do things until it's too late. I don't have the clear mind though I have a million and one thoughts all yapping at the same time....lol

  3. Love your ATCs Tammy. I've saved one million cereal boxes so really must start making some more tags. Love your birdie painting too. So sweet! I hope you are finding time for all your artsy endeavors. Best wishes, Tammy

  4. These are wonderful- I love the "Jack" because of all those layers of color and words and the special meaning you shared- so sweet!
And of course the Caribbean one is dear to me since I lived in St. Croix for seven years- ahhh I miss sitting under an umbrella at the edge of the ocean- my friend and I would reserve one day a month where just the two of us would fill a bag with books and such and just lime away the day with frothy conversation and of course, frothy drinks:) Thanks for bringing that memory back to me with your art.
    Hugs,
    Steph
